David Lubell Resume

David Lubell makes his animation the old fashioned way, drawing each cel by hand. He has been producing award winning commercial cel animation for over 20 years. Today, in addition to 2D cel animation, David uses LightWave to model and render original 3D character animation. In 1995, he got his first Mac, and began creating hand drawn cells digitally, using a pen and a Wacom digitizer tablet, connected to the computer. Since then, David has been using digital technology to produce all his current work. He attended N.Y.U. where he studied film and TV in the late sixties and early 70's. He has been making animated shorts and commercials for over 25 years, and has produced animation for childrens television, corporate and advertising. His work has been featured on "Animals, Animals, Animals","Make A Wish" and Nickelodeon. He won a Clio for "Space," an ID he did for Nickelodeon in 1987. He has been also making experimental shorts and also creates humorous, thought provoking illustrations using airbrush and mixed media.
